The heart of every racket is the string. The right choice of the string and high-quality service will help you get the best of your game. A novice player who is just learning tennis doesn’t necessarily need to be aware of the enormous importance of the type of string. They will probably buy a tennis racket with a pre-set string. However, with the development of skills, the increase in the level of the game and the awareness of their own strengths, it is worth starting testing different types of strings. It is also recommended to experiment with the selection of racket string tension to further adapt the equipment to your own play style.

So what are the types of tennis strings? Natural, multi-fibre, polyester, synthetic and hybrid strings are available for sale. Each of them has different properties that should be compatible with the style of game of a given tennis player. Natural strings for rackets are the best strength, comfort and tension maintenance. They allow you to control and feel impacts, are very flexible and stop vibrations well, but they have a very low durability and often break. They are made of cow intestines and take up to seven days to be produced. Such equipment is of the highest quality and mainly used by leading players. Currently, they are used mainly in a hybrid, i.e. a combination of two types of strings - intestinal and polyester. Each of them is responsible for different properties.

The parameters of the natural strings are similar to that of a multi-fibre. They give the player a good impact force, high playing comfort and protect the arm from injury. On the other hand, they are not very durable and do not give full impact control. It will be an excellent choice for children, juniors and beginners. The most commonly used type of string is polyester and co-polyester string. It is characterized by high durability, good impact control and easy rotation. Its disadvantages are the rapid drop in string tension and stiffness. These types of strings will be perfect for tournament players and advanced amateurs who need more control over the ball and like to play from the depth of the court. It is not a good string for beginner tennis players who appreciate comfort and ease of play.

When it comes to heads for beginners, synthetic heads are recommended. They are cheaper and have average parameters. They have slightly lower endurance and have less ball control, but they are characterized by a fairly good impact force, relative comfort of play and good tension maintenance. An interesting solution are hybrid racket strings, which are more and more often used by professional players from the top positions of the rankings. The hybrid string allows you to combine the best features of two types of strings. Thanks to this, we gain high control, high durability, easy rotation and strikes as well as comfort of the game.

Each of the strings also has its own individual properties, such as tension (string tension force) and thickness (diameter). The tension is given in kilograms. The average range is between 20-30 kg. A lower value means greater impact force, better playing comfort, but also less ball control and more frequent movement of the strings, and consequently their faster wear. More tension means more ball control, but less force and worse playing comfort. String tension is a very individual matter and should be adjusted to the way and level of play of a particular player. The thickness of the string is the second parameter that affects the quality of the game. Thin and thicker strings are available. Each of them has an appropriate effect on the strength of the strikes, ball control, comfort of the game and string strength.

Remember that a tennis string, like any other equipment, wears out and must be replaced. You cannot wait until the material is completely worn out and let the head break during the game. As soon as you notice that your strikes have worsen, it may be time to replace the strings. Wondering how often to replace the tennis string?

Professionals do this after each game. Amateurs who play once or twice a week can change the string even after three months. If you have read all the information provided above, then you are on your way to choosing the perfect string for you. Our store has a wide range of strings of all types. Depending on your needs, we sell them in single packages, the so-called sets and in spools, i.e. collective packages.
